This is strictly an opinion piece, mine only. It is not based on bona fide stats,. All that said; I believe accusations of abuse have nearly reached pandemic levels, especially in social media circles. Of course abuse is abuse, and ‘if genuine’ must be dealt with. Yet how many highly subjective, unproven, undocumented, non-factual claims of abuse are out there? Many times the sensation-seeking media hastens to report highly questionable claims, frequently without a shred of evidence!

My point is that with all the modern methods and means of obtaining factual evidence, very few victims claims ever even reach a level to support legal charges, why?

In my humble opinion ‘abuse’ is now a tagline. Its reached a level of commonality, that has a numbing effect on hearers. It becomes difficult to even react to new claims. With due regard for genuine victims, such as first nations claimants, credibility of many others is questionable. Has humanity really sunk to such a level that abuse is as common as Covid?
