I was enjoying an afternoon in October sunshine on the promenade at White Rock B.C. today. Some misguided person was serving up food for throngs of seagulls and they screamed as they competed for each one.
Watching those seagulls reminded me of the new Boeing ‘787 dream liner’, how?
If you take a close look, the wings of that modern airliner bear a close resemblance to the wings of those gulls! Indeed the wings of the 787 are not only able to flex 25 feet under test conditions, but their design appears to mimic seagulls, at least visually.
Most commercial jets today have employed (Burt Rutan designed) winglets at the end of their wings to reduce turbulant drag and improve performance. But if you look closely the new Boeing dream liner has a design similar to gulls, a sophisticated tapered shape that accomplishes the same thing without winglets!
My point in writing about this is to compliment those who have learned from so-called ‘nature’, by that I mean the ‘Creator of nature’, our Father in heaven. Yes he is in fact the master designer of all life on this blue marble, a planet with beauty and complexity we may only be just beginning to appreciate as this video well illustrates… copy and paste it to view, I guarantee you will not be dissapointed:

After just watching updated nuclear reactor developments that produce little or no waste as proposed by MIT brains and such, it does appear there are definite positive high energy production advantages with these newer developments, no doubt.
That said, my question is simple; why pursue development of such high energy production methods that will likely always carry very have high human risk factors?
No matter how such risks may be minimized, why is it necessary? Does it not make far more planetary sense to strive for greater harmony with nature by making it the primary goal to ‘eliminate’ all risks in order to preserve a pristine natural environment as much as we are humanly capable?!
Clearly the mentality persists that ‘more is somehow better’. That pursuit of material goods and services are somehow in mankind’s best interest. Hasn’t earth’s environmental and human damage proven that philosophy is a fallacy? I would argue that is has.
Mr. Hawking has been described in so many ways already its hard to be original. E.g. he’s been described as a deep thinker; problem solver; successful author; theoretical genius, and more, But with all that said, his greatest success INHO was his amazing adaptation to a crippling disease.
True there are other examples of such exceptional human spirit, but not that many. The ones I’ve heard about are mostly based on cultivating a trusting hope in our Creator for a bright future free of the effects of disease and infirmity.
Indeed that future was clearly demonstrated by Jesus when he healed every form of disease and infirmity while on earth as he also gave a powerful witness by means of God’s spirit, always humbly acknowledging the source of his miraculous ability’s.
There can be no doubt at all that Stephen Hawking’s fertile brain contributed to his longevity, a good message for all of us, young and old. However a future life without the effects of disease, infirmity, and even the end of death itself is a hope beyond even his human imagination, no matter what a so-called IQ rating!
In fact there is a fully reliable promise by our creator for that future regardless of personal circumstances, regardless of how dire they may appear to be right now! For more details please goto JW.org
The claim by those involved in preventing sea turtle extinction is that they have ‘helped’ them. While this may partly seem like a matter of symantecs, the truth is that only human ‘non-intervention’ could rightly be called ‘help’, be it for sea turtles or the hundreds if not thousands of other forms of life on planet earth.
When will it be acknowledged that, in fact, it is human interference and ignorance that is the fundamental reason why all life on earth is threatened! This is not just a matter of symantecs, but a basic reality that needs to be very humbly admitted. Only then will it be possible for us to accept our supreme Creator as the guide to full and complete restoration of planet earth as it was in the very beginning.
That restoration is coming, in spite of human opposition and arrogance, very soon. So we can either submit to the Creator’s purpose, or continue to ignore it, that is the choice he has given us. For more info please visit JW.org
What is truly remarkable about the Cassini probe is the reflection on earth. Indeed the science gained by it should teach us a great deal.
The simple scientific results prove that beyond any doubt life on earth is truly unique, no other conclusion is possible. Yes I know ‘possibilities’ are open to debate, however known ‘facts’ are clear: the earth is truly unique and special.
Can we accept that reality, or are we obsessed with the mere proposition of life on other planets?
I myself am not a total disbeliever in that possibility, but until and unless there is substantial evidence, its very appropriate to humbly and logically accept ‘factual evidence’ life on earth, (or anywhere else), is the unique production of an intelligent loving Creator, just as stated in the Bible:: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth .”
This minute detection of a single atom) of so-called gravitational waves is, frankly, a simple distraction from the reality of present world conditions. We are nearing a turning point in the history of mankind long predicted by the Bible. To really know the future it is necessary to study holy scriptures, not atoms. Please do so while it is still possible at ‘JW.org’
I try really hard to suppress an outright laugh when reports like this are treated as scientific fact!
By their very own admission, ‘evillution’ is truly “a muddle”! In other words it is not even close to being factual.
The BBC report on the news tonight (Dec. 3rd 2013) states ‘there is no way to connect million-year old man with modern man by comparing skull bones’ etc. But now they expect to be able to do so by comparing the DNA from some cave bones.
What utter and complete nonsense is this frustrated grasping at straws to validate a theory that for about 100 years has been absolutely ‘invalidated’ scientifically.
Of course the real reason for this desperate ongoing fruitless search is very obvious; there is no way that arrogant men of learning can come to grips with the plain truth, namely mankind is the product of the most intelligent, glorious, all-powerful, and generous Creator as clearly set out in His own inspired Word, the Bible. Every science ‘fact’ supports this conclusion!
What’s more he has generously provided the way out of human chaos all the way back to human perfection…‘in his good time!’ Similarly, now we are reaching the very limit of his patience with us… just as occurred in the days of Noah… please read Luke 17:26-30.
Exciting news! The first man-made object exists the Solar System… but why so?
Credit is due for scientists and engineers who built and guided the Explorer on its historic journey to the stars.
In fact they have provided ever greater evidence of our human insignificance in relation to the vastness of the Universe.
Indeed this event should help us to truly ‘see ourselves’ in relation to the vast universe in which we are blessed to exist!
But the question is; are we willing to humble ourselves enough to appreciate this obvious fact!?
They find a mere fragment of bone and declare it a multi-thousand year tool of some unproven, unsupported, theoretical pre-human existence, and then blatantly exclaim it as proof of ‘evolution’..? How truly bizarre is this illogical approach to the ‘scientific method’!

basically science is ‘truth based on facts’, yet evolution is based on nothing more than, theory, speculation, and myth.
There is no better example of this than the one carried by news media today…. findings of a few bones proves evolution..!?
Please do not suspend your disbelief when reading such misleading, fallacious news items.
The origin of this well-known saying is ambiguous. However there is no doubt about its accuracy. But is it really necessary for us to have a ‘physical picture’ to appreciate it?
Its my belief that the greatest use of this truism isn’t political cartoons or other media presentations as is often touted. But it proves to be utterly true also when ‘word-pictures’ are presented for our human imagination!
For a prime example of this, arguably the greatest man to ever walk on the earth was a master at stimulating human imagination via the use of such ‘word pictures’. And those pictures have left an indelible mark on mankind down to this day!
He consistently used ‘word pictures’ to stimulate human imagination and human emotions, to teach, explain, clarify, and magnify his point.
Here is a classic example of his technique by way of hyperbole:
‘…It is easier for a camel to get through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to get into the kingdom of God.’ (Matthew 19:24)
Another classic example when he described hypocritical religious leaders:
“Likewise every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit; a good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, neither can a rotten tree produce fine fruit. Every tree not producing fine fruit gets cut down and thrown into the fire. Really, then, by their fruits YOU will recognize those [men]” (Matthew 7:17-20)
These word-pictures are not limited to a one-off time period, as for example political cartoons, rather they are ‘timeless’ lessons that teach us things better than a thousand words could. They present mental images to help us to understand and appreciate universal truths.
Though recorded 2000 years ago, if we meditate on them we will gain insight for our present day!
